My Manifesto

1

Compared to what could be known, I know almost nothing. This is the only part of this manifesto I’m quite sure to be true. All the following statements are subject to this first one.

2

The activity I enjoy most is loving. Be it a plant, an animal, a child or an adult. I do it only for myself because I enjoy it. I never do it for others or because I feel obliged to or because I want to be loved in return.
I don’t need to try to become a „good person“. I already am, always was. Everybody is, always was.

3

All the other goals I pursue (surviving, earning money etc.) are only instrumental goals to achieve the main goal according to #2.
I might not always use them well. This is normal and cannot be avoided completely.
I'm far too stupid to be guilty for anything I did wrong.

4

I don’t care what others think about me and what others talk about me. My feeling of purpose and self-worth comes only (!) from my own assessment regarding my efficiency and progress in finding pleasure in loving (according to #2 and #3).

5

People who praise me (pats on the back, awards, media coverage, titles, diplomas, certificates, exclusive memberships,…) only try to influence my behavior in their interests and should therefore be considered a harmful distraction.
I must always remain aware of this - in case I decide to use such praise anyway to achieve a specific (instrumental) goal.

6

A fool is someone who tries to convince me that other people besides myself are responsible for my problems or the sad state of the world. They are harmful distractions and make it harder for me to pursue #2.
I have to be careful not to be such a fool myself.

7

A fool is someone who believes that he „knows a lot“.
To be a fool is very limiting. Therefore, I want to try hard not to be a fool.
Judging others only prevents me from understanding. It's a harmful waste of time and mental energy.

8

The first way not to become a fool is to ask myself new questions every time I believe to have found an answer. The other way is to let everybody be my teacher.

9

The fools who should be ignored the most are those who are „sure that X is impossible to achieve“.
I never want to become one of them.

10

I'm nothing special. We are all more or less the same. Understanding others requires understanding myself.
